This victory, though, was a tale of two halves, with Fulham's struggles in the first period contrasting sharply with their resilience in the second.
The absence of key attacking players, Alex Iwobi and Samuel Chukwueze, seemed to weigh heavily on the Cottagers, who struggled to create chances. However, in a moment of brilliance, Kevin's quick feet outmaneuvered Douglas Luiz, leading to a penalty that many felt was soft.
"It was a harsh call," opined Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher. "When you're on the floor, trying to kick the ball away, it's a difficult situation. It's not a clear-cut penalty, but the referee's decision stands."
