Phineas and Ferb Third Movie Announced! Time-Travel Adventure Threatens Their Brotherhood (2026)

Exciting news for fans of animated adventures! Disney is diving back into the whimsical world of "Phineas and Ferb" with the announcement of a brand-new movie. According to Variety, Disney Branded Television has officially given the green light for a third film in this beloved franchise, with production set to kick off later this year. This upcoming installment will be available on Disney+ as well as the traditional Disney Channel.

The creative minds behind the series, Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh, have devised an intriguing plot centered around time travel. In this new adventure, the very bond between Phineas and Ferb is at risk of being erased entirely.

The story unfolds with Dr. Doofenshmirtz's latest mishap during a time-travel experiment, which inadvertently wipes out the pivotal moment when Phineas' mother first meets Ferb's father. As a result, the two boys never become brothers, leading to a mundane existence where every day is merely average. With reality starting to unravel and the future hanging in the balance, Phineas and Ferb must embark on a mission to restore the timeline before it’s too late.

Returning to lend their voices to this exciting new film are the original cast members: Vincent Martella as Phineas Flynn, David Errigo Jr. as Ferb Fletcher, Ashley Tisdale as Candace Flynn, Caroline Rhea as Linda Flynn-Fletcher, Alyson Stoner as Isabella Garcia-Shapiro, Maulik Pancholy as Baljeet, Bobby Gaylor as Buford, Dee Bradley Baker as Perry the Platypus, Povenmire himself as Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, and Marsh voicing Major Francis Monogram.

Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, "‘Phineas and Ferb’ thrives on imagination, heart, and humor, where the unexpected is always part of the fun. This movie provides Dan and Swampy with a wonderful opportunity to expand that world and explore the chaos that ensues when everything is turned upside down."

Alongside co-creators Povenmire and Marsh, the team working on this project includes writers Kate Kondell and Jeff Howard, director Bob Bowen, and producer Brandi Young.

Povenmire and Marsh shared their excitement in a joint statement, saying, "We’ve always aimed to tell a story that revolves around family and unconditional love, ideally presented in a bold and sentimental manner while remaining genuinely funny. We are thankful to Ayo and her team for allowing us the freedom to broaden the world of Danville and elevate these characters to new heights."

Previously, the franchise enjoyed success with the 2011 television movie "Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension," which was recognized as one of the top TV movies of that year. In 2020, the second film, "Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe," also became a hit on Disney+.

The announcement of this new movie follows the significant revival of "Phineas and Ferb" last year, which saw a return with a whopping 40-episode order in 2023. The show made a successful comeback last summer with Season 5, garnering critical acclaim and impressive ratings that placed it on Nielsen’s Streaming Top 10 list, accumulating nearly 600 million minutes of viewing time.

New content related to "Phineas and Ferb" is set to launch this weekend, starting on Friday, January 16, with a series of shorts titled "Agent P Under C." This collection of eight new episodes will debut on Disney+, with additional episodes airing on the Disney Channel and on Disney Channel Animation's YouTube channel. The digital series follows Perry the Platypus, who takes on the role of Agent P on an undercover mission to thwart animal foes from a rival spy organization known as A.N.A.T.H.E.M.A. (the Alliance of Nefarious Animals That Have an Exceptionally Memorable Acronym).

Then, on Saturday, January 17, fresh episodes of "Phineas and Ferb" will premiere on Disney+, featuring guest appearances by stars such as Meghan Trainor, Anna Faris, Cristo Fernández, Megan Rapinoe, and Iain Stirling. Notably, Trainor will appear in a special 22-minute episode titled "Vendpocalypse The Musical," which will also be available on the Disney Channel and its YouTube platform.

In "Vendpocalypse The Musical," Trainor portrays "Vending Machine Prime," described as the charming leader of the vending machines. When these machines rise to power, she attempts to persuade Norm to join their cause.

"Phineas and Ferb" has been a monumental success, achieving five Emmy awards and becoming Disney Television Animation's most successful animated series among kids aged 6–11 and tweens aged 9–14. The franchise has developed into a major global phenomenon for Disney, expanding into live shows, children's novels, merchandise, toys, video games, and even food and beauty products. Fans can currently enjoy all four original seasons and the films on Disney+.

Disney has also reported a staggering 12.8 billion hours of viewership across both linear and streaming platforms since the franchise’s inception.

During its original run on Disney Channel and Disney XD, Povenmire and Marsh produced a total of 126 episodes of the Emmy-winning "Phineas and Ferb," along with multiple series and films, as well as a live touring show, novels, merchandise, games, and more.
