Rashod Bateman is sidelined; Tee Higgins will miss Bengals game
Both teams may be without a top receiver this Sunday as the Ravens visit Cincinnati. Baltimore wideout Rashod Bateman did not practice on Friday after being added to the injury report on Thursday as a limited participant with an ankle issue. On a brighter note, tight end Mark Andrews, who was listed with a glute problem on Thursday, returned to practice on Friday.
Left tackle Ronnie Stanley did not practice, though he has recently taken Fridays off to rest. For Cincinnati, star wide receiver Tee Higgins will be ruled out due to a concussion. Higgins practiced in a limited capacity earlier in the week but did not participate on Friday.
Higgins, who had 92 receiving yards and two touchdowns last week against Buffalo, also sat out the Ravens game two weeks ago because of a concussion. He has faced Baltimore only twice in the last three regular seasons.
Rookie edge defender Shemar Stewart (knee) is doubtful to suit up, while veteran defensive end Trey Hendrickson has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
If Bateman sits, the Ravens could rely more on Rashod Bateman’s replacement options in the receiving corps, and Cincinnati will lean on its other playmakers while Higgins sits out. The weekend matchup could hinge on which team can best compensate for these key absences.
