Renault Group is advancing its electrification strategy by embedding electric-charging solutions directly into its commercial framework, under the leadership of Fabrice Cambolive, Chief Growth Officer. The objective is to simplify the charging experience for electric-vehicle drivers and to streamline internal management by uniting the Group’s various components around a common mission.
Historically developed by Mobilize Beyond Automotive, energy services enable EV drivers to charge at home, at work, or while traveling. These offerings improve the user experience and can reduce total ownership costs, for example through a bi-directional charging (V2G) commercial proposition.
Tangible results from the charging initiatives include:
- With Charge Pass, Renault Group drivers gain access to over one million charging points across Europe at preferential rates, serving nearly 90,000 users in Europe.
- The Mobilize Fast Charge network features more than 60 ultra-fast stations in France, with a target of about 100 sites by the end of 2026, and over 100 locations in Italy via the Free to X network.
- The first commercial V2G offering for private customers launched in France in 2024, establishing Renault Group as an early adopter of this technology. The Netherlands followed in 2025 with the first car-sharing fleet operating on V2G.
The Mobilize brand was introduced in 2021 to broaden Renault Group’s footprint beyond traditional automotive manufacturing. It acted as an incubator and innovation driver, sharpening the Group’s expertise in new areas, scouting high-potential opportunities, and retiring less relevant directions.
Certain Mobilize Beyond Automotive activities are being shut down due to limited profitability or misalignment with strategic priorities. The electric quadricycle Duo and Zity’s car-sharing service in Milan are terminated. Zity’s operations in Madrid will be phased out beginning next year.
Mobilize Beyond Automotive will cease to exist as a separate entity. The Mobilize brand will continue to be used commercially for Mobilize Financial Services, with other uses to be evaluated in the coming months.
